Easy Steps to Starting a Drop Shipping Store on eBay 2019-01-13T15:32:11+00:00

I always wanted to run a business that is location independent and would allow me to work on my own schedule. I may work longer hours than I did at a corporate job, but I work on my own terms. I love the unknowns of the journey, the challenges, accomplishments and surprises along the way. I work to achieve freedom and I wish nothing more for everyone than to feel inspired to do the same. There are many ways to make money online. But did you know that you can build an online business running a drop shipping store on eBay?

When I gave birth to my son, Ariyan, I decided not to return to the corporate world and stay at home with him. Not only that, I also wanted to completely change my lifestyle, so I moved to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, embarking on a challenging yet fantastic journey of personal development.

On January 2016, I started a Drop Shipping Business on eBay and made $240k in sales in the first year.

I created this website to share my experience and help inspire those who want to start their own online business. I am here to show you how you can open and run a profitable online store that won’t make you feel like you’re compromising your ethics or force you to sell your products to friends and family, if you don’t want to.

Today, you can start a fully featured eBay store for under 10 dollars and not have to carry any inventory at all. This business model offers you the opportunity to source your product (drop ship) and sell your items globally on eBay with low overhead and startup costs, with little experience and little technical eCommerce knowledge. As well, this business is completely location independent and can be done from anywhere in the world.

If you are interested in learning more about what I do and starting your own Drop Shipping business, read below to find out the 3 steps that will teach you to run a successful online store.

So what the heck is Drop Shipping?

Drop Shipping or Product Sourcing as eBay calls it, is fulfillment business model where your eBay store does not own physical inventory of you are selling. Instead, you are providing a service of promoting and selling the goods on your own store (eBay). Once you receive an order, you are responsible to place it with your source for them to pick, pack and fulfill.

The profit you make is the difference between what you charge your customers on your website and what the drop shipping company charges you, minus the eBay and PayPal fees. Drop Shipping is allowed on eBay as long as you will fulfill your orders within 30-days from the sale. You can find out more information here: eBay Product Sourcing Details

There are a lot of strategies, technicalities and ways of getting more sales, ranking your store, optimizing your listings, etc However, the absolutely most important thing you have to focus on is your customer service.

Enough with the chit-chat…

Here are the 3 Easy Steps that you can take to start your own online drop shipping business:

Sign up for my FREE course on the drop shipping basics! I’ve taken all my knowledge and all the advice I’ve received from drop shipping gurus like David Vu to create a drop shipping course that will take you through the basics of drop shipping, step by step.

Go over it a couple of times, take copious notes and follow the system as instructed. The course walks you through setting up your eBay store, how to optimize your listings, place orders, handle your customer service, etc. You will learn exactly how to work from home purely selling and drop shipping on eBay.

As you can see, if you work hard and apply the principles of the course along with your intuition, you can definitely achieve success.

I estimate that 90% of the people who try drop shipping quit after 3 months. It’s not the most glamorous thing, listing products all day every day if you aren’t starving or desperate to make money.

Whenever I’m invited to speak to entrepreneurs, I like to get them to think about:

  1. their values
  2. their business model
  3. their level of commitment
  4. their goals

Knowing yourself and your business goals is crucial to growing a successful business. Never stop learning and always stay true to your values.

Through David Vu’s eBay drop shipping course, I met a community of passionate entrepreneurs. Together with my business partner, Jonathan Lien, we grew an exclusive members-only community who discusses their problems and shares valuable information over at eDropShip Empire.

All of us began our businesses at different times, but sooner or later, we all struggled growing it. Some of us hit walls right away, trying to get past those first few listings or eventually came across a problem we didn’t know how to solve.

Some of that useful information includes: international setup, Virtual Assistant (VA) work, customer service issues, international payment methods and so on.

If you want professional results, you have to invest in your work! Invest the same amount of time and mental energy as if you were working a full time job or if you were to open a physical brick and mortar store and you will be successful. Create a business flow that you can follow daily. Listing your items, responding to customer service inquiries or concerns, working with your sources, placing orders, adding tracking numbers is what the drop shipping service is about. This is a real business and you have to respect it!
